Religions Blog Question #2
All major world religions encourage their followers to follow some form of the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Choose two religions and describe how followers might practice this differently.

People that practice Judaism follow the Ten Commandments, which are the basic rules for the religion. The first four commandments tell only to worship the one God and how to worship him. The next four say to always do the right thing and be kind to others. The basic law of all religions is "do unto other as you would want them to do unto you." The last commandment is also very important and says: don't only do the right thing but think the right thing. You must think and act proper in order to be following the word of God. There are 613 commandments in the Torah, all telling how to behave, and practice the religion.
Buddhism is another religion were being kind to others is very important. Buddhists believe in karma, which has a lot to do with what happens during your rebirth. Buddhists are generally very kind people who give and receive in an honorable manor; this is in order to get better karma. Jewish people also are kind and follow the rules of God so they will be accepted into heaven. Although these two religions both ask their people to be kind, the reward is two separate things.
The two religions I would chose for best showing the golden rule would be Judaism and Christianity. I chose these two religions because they are so similar. They are similar in the way that they have the 10 commandments that tell you how to lead your life. They are all really important because they tell you what not to do and if you do what you are not told you have committed a sin. A sin determines heaven or hell if you do not ask for forgiveness. This gives you the consequence of bad doing onto others and paying the price later.
The Ten Commandments are the big rules in Christianity and Judaism. In Christianity they’re strict but not as much as Judaism. In Judaism they have many rules about the Torah. If you drop it touch it pronounce something wrong those are all their rules. In Christianity they don’t want you to kill only worship one god don’t misuse the name of god don’t steal or lie. Those are pretty easy to follow. But in Buddhism there are 8 things you follow that are hard and any ordinary person couldn’t follow if they converted to Buddhism. Some religions have there “Golden Rule” in more than one way but some religions practice it differently Judaism is rapped around there holy book and Christianity is based on getting in to Heaven.
